Our Training Program has Three Phases
Classroom Instruction This part of the training introduces the student to the basics of trucking including, but not limited to, history of trucking, general safety around trucks, CDL basics like general knowledge, air brakes, and combination vehicles. Pre-trip inspections, shifting, backing, coupling and uncoupling, fuel & electrical systems, loading, dispatching, logistics, hazardous materials doubles/triples, tankers, log books, truck and trailer maintenance, cargo loading. There are several practice tests given to help the student pass the CDL permit exam. All instructors are available to answer questions and insure complete understanding of the material covered during this part of the training.
Range Instruction Here students will learn pre-trip inspections, rpm & speed control, clutch control, coupling and uncoupling, sliding 5th wheel and tandem straight line backing, alley backing, sight & blind parallel backing. All general
maneuvering skills will be taught to the students until instructors are comfortable with their skill level.
Road Instruction Here the student will learn the driving aspect of the course. Some things mastered are turning, corning, merging, shifting, secondary road, highway, expressway, city driving, mountain/hills, truck stops. Each student tests with a state examiner for their license
