SAGE offers a wide variety of truck driving programs to meet the needs of students and employers. Sage's basic program is designed to exceed the entry level truck driver certification standards set by The Professional Truck Driver Institute (PTDI). These standards are considered the highest national standards for truck driving schools in the country! Each training program is patterned after the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) Proposed Minimum Standards for Training Tractor Trailer Drivers. The programs are continually improved and updated by the schools' program advisory committee, comprised of a broad base of the trucking industry. . Selected training programs are described below. |

TTD150 (Tractor-Trailer Driver, Basic): Provides the student with all the basic knowledge and practical skills necessary to become an entry-level over-the-road truck driver. The program consists of 150 hours of instruction (44 driving hours) conducted over 4-5 weeks. Meets the needs of students with no prior knowledge or experience in truck driving. TTD300E (Tractor Trailer Driver, Externship): This program includes 150 hours of classroom, lab and driving instruction presented over five weeks at SAGE. Following training at SAGE, the student is provided an additional 150 hours of hands-on lab and driving experience over a five week period at a motor carrier approved by SAGE. In total, this 10 week program provides hundreds of hours of actual driving instruction behind the wheel of a tractor trailer, and virtually all externship training is employer-paid driving time. This program also provides each student an excellent opportunity to make a smooth transition from instruction to employment with a reputable motor carrier that has pre-approved each student successfully completing the externship. |

TTD450 (Tractor Trailer Driver, Comprehensive): The most detailed program offered by SAGE includes a 5 week employer-paid externship program. Contains a wide variety of learning objectives to accommodate those who want to take advantage of a more complete selection of job openings in the trucking industry. In addition to fundamental instruction, students are taught detailed coupling and uncoupling, vehicle inspection, sliding fifth-wheels and tandems, truck towing, and special equipment operations. A generous portion of this 15 week program is dedicated to general truck maintenance and repair, flatbed and specialized hauling. The program also focuses on the business aspects of trucking. Ten weeks of training are conducted at the school and 5 weeks in an externship. |

TTD80 (Tractor-Trailer Driver, Advanced): Appropriate for students who have some truck driving experience or training, but will not meet the standards required for a truck driving job. The program consists of 80 hours of instruction (30 driving hours) conducted over 2-3 weeks. Provides the student with all the basic knowledge and practical skills necessary to become an entry-level over-the-road or in-town truck driver. |

TTD40 (Tractor-Trailer Driver, Refresher): This program provides sufficient knowledge and skills to applicants with some prior experience to enable them to pass the written and practical portions of the CDL examination. The program consists of 40 hours of instruction (20 driving hours) conducted over 1-2 weeks. |
