The objective of the program at Transport Tech is to instruct the student in safe vehicle operation, proper pre-inspection procedures, and learning how to complete the required Department of Transportation paperwork The Student will acquire tractor/trailer driving skills which will enable them to obtain entry-level employment as a commercial driver.
The Mission of Transport Tech is to help strengthen the Tri-State area by providing quality educational programs to men and women who desire to meet the ever increasing needs of todays working community.

Basic Systems
This section of the Transport Tech program includes instruction on An Introduction to Trucking, Control Systems, Vehicle Inspection, Basic Control, Shifting, Backing, Visual Search, Communications, Space Management, Speed Management, Night Driving, Extreme Driving Conditions, Hazard Awareness, Emergency Maneuvers, Skid Control, Accident Procedures.
Basic Operation
This section of the Transport Tech program includes instruction on Coupling, Uncoupling, Sliding 5th wheels and tandem axles, Handling Cargo, Cargo Documentation, Hours of Service, Personal Health and Safety, Trip Planning, Public Relations, and Employer-Employee Relations.
Safe Operating Practices
This section of the Transport Tech program includes instruction on Vehicle Inspection,Vehicle Systems, Preventative Maintenance & Servicing, Recognize & Report Malfunctions, Coupling & Uncoupling, Backing.
Range and Road
This section of the Transport Tech program includes instruction on Control Systems, Shifting, Backing, Visual Search, Communication, Space Management, Speed Management, Night Driving, Hazard Awareness, Emergency Maneuvers, Skid Control, During the end of the Range/Road course, the student will be skills tested at a State Authorized Testing Facility not affiliated with the school. The skills test normally takes 1 1/2 hour.
