INSTITUTION PHILOSOPHY
The objective of our program is to take an individual who is or was under Employed or unemployed and provide him/her with 150 hours of training Tractor trailer operation. This training will enable them to qualify for a State license and to take the C.D.L. written exam. It will provide them with the necessary skills required for an entry level position as a tractor trailer driver in the transportation industry.

Student must fill out all paperwork completely and submit to a personal interview and must abide by all school rules/ regulations. (B) Student must hold a valid drivers license for at least one year. (C) Student must pass a D O T long form medical physical. (D) Student must submit a 5 year printout of their driving record (MW) (E) Student must have a high school diploma, GED or pass an Ability to Benefit test. (F) Student must be at least 21 years of age. (G) Student must not have any felony convictions within the past 5 years. No DUI's, DWI's, OMVI's or similar violations in the past 3 years. No more than 3 moving violations in the past 2 years
APPROXIMATE TIME TO COMPLETE COURSE
One hundred fifty (150) hours of resident training consisting of classroom concourse, and behind the wheel (on the road) instruction. Full time training consists of 3 weeks of resident.
(5days per week,10 hours per day).
Training Program
The objective of the school's truck driving program is to provide 150 hours of training required to qualify for entry level employment as a tractor trailer driver in interstate and / intrastate commerce.
The training is broken down into three (3) phases.
Phase 1.
Classroom: This is to prepare the student through theory, for training in the skill area and the over the road training. Each student will be taught vehicle familiarization, various engines and brakes used, basic control of vehicle, controlling speed, shifting gears, communicating, managing space, night driving, seeing hazards, emergencies, skid control recovery, tires, hazardous material rule, transporting cargo safely, pre trip inspection, combination vehicles and air brakes. The student's progress will be measured weekly and at the end of classroom training through examinations.
Phase 2.
Skills training: Skills training is designed to ensure that the student will be able to safely maneuver a tractor trailer unit into a parked position. This position may be in a dock or loading area, where the driver will be required to back from the right side (blind side) or from the left side (sight side). The student will be able to properly maneuver a tractor trailer unit into parked position or curbside. The student will also practice the proper method of approaching a corner and how to maneuver around the corner without touching the curb. The student will also learn hand/foot coordination dealing with shifting. Students will practice pre trip inspections, coupling and uncoupling, safety area, using mirrors both in driving forward and backing in a straight line or docking. The student will have mastered theses skills upon graduation.
Phase 3.
Over the road training: The student upon graduation, will be able to safely drive a tractor trailer unit on our nations highways. The student will be taught how to handle all types of traffic situations over different kinds of terrain and with varied lengths and widths, loaded and unloaded. They mill have the opportunity to drive through large and small cities and towns to be sure they experience all types of traffic. The student will be tested on pretrip inspection, couple and uncouple procedures and safety. They will be required to maintain a Daily Driver's Log.
